From 17 to 19 June 2025, Rainno had the pleasure of hosting the 5th Plenary Meeting of the EFRA Project in Thessaloniki, as a member of the project’s consortium. With EFRA entering its final six months, this gathering brought together partners from across Europe to align, reflect, and plan the next steps.
Over three days, the consortium reviewed progress, presented pilot demonstrators, and worked intensively on integrating EFRA’s AI-driven food risk platform. From use case planning and platform architecture to sustainability and business models, every discussion moved the project closer to delivery.
Rainno’s Role
As the leader of EFRA’s Communication, Dissemination, and Exploitation activities, Rainno contributed to several key sessions, including:
- Strategic discussions on communication and dissemination progress and actions for the final phase
- Workshop on business modelling, focused on exploitation, partnerships, and sustainability
- Coordination and hosting of podcast recordings, capturing expert insights from both technical and business members of the consortium
As hosts, we were delighted to welcome EFRA partners to our home city of Thessaloniki. To offer a warm and memorable experience, Rainno prepared goody bags filled with signature local products — including Greek honey, olive oil, Kozani saffron, and other regional delicacies.
It was our way of saying thank you and sharing a taste of local tradition with our international colleagues.
Co-organising the AI for Food Risk Prevention Workshop
On the final day of the plenary, Rainno co-organised the public workshop “AI for Food Risk Prevention” together with Agroknow and ATECluster (AgroTech Export Cluster), supported by the STELAR, and HOLiFOOD projects.
Held at the Alexander Innovation Zone, the event brought together researchers, innovators, and industry representatives to explore the role of AI in food safety — from predictive pest monitoring to mycotoxin detection.
As part of the programme, Dimitris Fotakidis, one of Rainno’s partners, introduced the EFRA project, presenting its vision, achievements, and real-world applications. Rainno also supported the design, outreach, and delivery of the workshop, contributing to its smooth coordination and impact.
Rainno’s Broader Contribution to EFRA
Rainno plays a central role in the EFRA project by:
- Designing and implementing multi-channel, multi-actor strategies to promote project results
- Ensuring consistent, targeted messaging and branding across all communications
- Developing tailor-made business models stemming from EFRA’s use cases
- Contributing to project monitoring and quality assurance
Our goal is to help ensure EFRA’s tools are not only technically successful but also positioned for long-term uptake and real-world impact.
